The Learning Resources Department takes great pride in providing a welcome, friendly environment and responsive services to all members of the college community. Our librarians and staff work purposefully to provide the Qatari workforce with the skills, knowledge and abilities they require to thrive and be successful in a global, knowledge-based society.
The mission of Library Services at the College of the North Atlantic-Qatar is to provide the College community with access to quality services; to develop library collections that support and complement the curriculum; to establish library environments in which users can effectively engage in individual research and study; and to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary for independent lifelong learning.
All Students, staff and faculty of CNA-Q have unlimited borrowing privileges in any of our campus locations Building 14 - Library, Building 3 - Learning Commons.
To borrow you will need a valid student or staff ID card.

Confidentiality - A borrower’s intellectual freedom and right to privacy is recognized and honored at all times. All borrower information is confidential.
Registration Information – A valid ID is required to borrow materials. The following information is required from each borrower in order to register with the library: Full name, valid CNA-Q ID number, valid email address, mobile number, and home number.
General Collection – Items in the general collection may be borrowed for a two week period. Loans can be renewed for an extra two weeks provided that no one else has placed a hold on the item.
Holds – Borrower may place a hold on an item currently checked out. Upon the return of the item to the library an email will be sent to the borrower letting them know that the item they requested is now available and will be held for 5 working days.
Recall – All circulating items are subject to recall which is at the discretion of a librarian. If the item is recalled the borrower will be contacted via email and asked to return the item.
Non-circulating items – The following items co not circulate outside the Library:

Course Reserves – At the request of an instructor and the discretion of the Librarian, an item may be placed on reserve and shelved behind the circulation desk. Borrowers may access a maximum of 2 reserve items at a time. The loan period for reserve items will be set by a Librarian with the recommendation of the instructor who is requesting that an item be place on reserve.
Periodicals – Current periodicals are non-circulationing, and back issues can be borrowed for one week with no renewals.
Laptops – The library has 6 laptops for loan within the library. A borrower must fill out a equipment borrowing form and present a valid CNA-Q ID card which will be left at the circulation desk until the borrower returns the laptop.
Loan Policies - All borrowers assume the responsibility for lost or damaged library materials. When a library item is overdue by one week an email notice is sent to the borrower stating that they have overdue items. Overdue notices will be sent every week up to three weeks. Persons failing to renew or return items will be billed for the item/items. Staff leaving Doha at the end of their contract will be asked to have their library account cleared. If they still have items checked out they can return the book, replace the book with an exact copy or pay the replacement cost of the book.
